Update-13 people dead and more than 100 injured in Barcelona attacks

Update-NBC is reporting that more than 100 people have been injured in the attacks in Barcelona, Spain. The number of deaths remain unchanged. The news network also reported that ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks and two suspects, absent the driver of the van, have been arrested.

The terrorist attacks in Barcelona, Spain have left several people injured and several others dead.

The BBC reported that 50 people were injured and 13 people were killed after a man rammed his van into a crowd located at the popular tourist location, Las Ramblas.

According to The Telegraph, Driss Oukabir has been named a suspect in the case. Oukabir is a 28-year-old French citizen who lives approximately 50 miles from Barcelona.

Several world leaders have expressed their condolences and support for Spain. British Prime Minister Theresa May tweeted that Britain’s thoughts and prayers are with the victims and that “We stand with Spain against terror.”

French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted, “Solidarity with Barcelona. We are one side.”

Former President Barack Obama sent out a tweet in which he said that he and former First Lady Michelle Obama are thinking about the victims of the attack and that “Americans will always stand with our Spanish friends.”

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump also tweeted their support for Spain and condolences to the victims and families of the attack.
